The journal primarily welcomes scholarly work that contributes to the study of Islam, Muslim intellectual traditions, Islamic thought, religious knowledge, Muslim societies, and the historical, cultural, legal, ethical, spiritual, and social dimensions of Muslim life.
The journal also considers interdisciplinary research in related areas of the humanities and social sciences, provided that the manuscript maintains a clear academic connection with Islamic Studies, religious studies, Muslim societies, Islamic civilization, Islamic law, ethics, history, culture, or contemporary issues relevant to Muslim communities. Submissions should demonstrate originality, methodological clarity, scholarly argument, proper documentation, and relevance to the journal’s academic scope.
Al-Nasr currently accepts only Research Articles and Book Reviews. The journal does not accept other submission categories unless formally announced by the editorial office.
Research Articles are processed through a double-blind peer-review system. In this process, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential in order to support impartial academic evaluation. Editorial decisions are based on originality, relevance, scholarly quality, methodological clarity, documentation, ethical compliance, reviewer recommendations, and the overall contribution of the manuscript to the field.
Book Reviews are evaluated by the editorial team for scholarly relevance, accuracy, originality of assessment, critical engagement, and academic quality. A Book Review should examine a recent or academically significant book related to the journal’s scope and should clearly present the book’s bibliographic details, main argument, scholarly contribution, strengths, limitations, and relevance to Islamic Studies or related fields.
Where necessary, Book Reviews may also be sent to a subject expert for review. Book Reviews are not treated as original research articles and are evaluated according to their own academic purpose and form. They must, however, maintain scholarly tone, proper documentation, ethical responsibility, and relevance to the aims and scope of Al-Nasr.
All articles published in Al-Nasr are open-access articles distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author(s), journal, and source are properly credited.
Readers, researchers, institutions, and libraries are not charged for access to published content. Published articles are made available online to support academic visibility, research circulation, and wider scholarly engagement.
To support editorial management, website maintenance, manuscript production, copyediting, formatting, DOI and metadata preparation, archiving, and publication services, the journal may charge a publication fee after acceptance where applicable and as formally announced by the journal. The publication fee does not influence editorial decisions, peer review, reviewer recommendations, or acceptance. Fee waivers or reductions may be considered on request where justified.
Submissions are managed through Open Journal Systems (OJS). Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system and must ensure that all author details, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, references, and supplementary information are complete and accurate at the time of submission.
All correspondence related to submission, review, revision, acceptance, publication, correction, withdrawal, complaints, appeals, and technical matters should be addressed to the relevant editorial or support office of the journal.
